About Me

I am a German game designer/programmer and currently work on RuneScape at Jagex. My interests lie in game narrative, quest structures and mechanics. Due to my passion for challenging games, beyond my professional work in the MMORPG field, I’m mainly interested in action platformers, metroidvanias and souls-like game mechanics.

I believe that the constraints of 2D environments can push designers to create simple mechanics that are compelling and can carry a game from start to finish through clever modulation and combination with secondary player-character mechanics or level design.

My main inspiration in terms of design philosophy is Nintendo, specifically Plattformers like the Mario franchise. I strive to create main modes of operation like Mario’s jump or more recently his hat-throw that stand at the center of a game yet stay fresh and exciting throughout a play-through.

Through my previous experience in professional roles and client-based projects at university, I have gathered valuable skills in team leadership and doing my part in an interdisciplinary group-based efforts. I enjoy being able to add meaningful value to a team through my unique qualities and qualifications and value positive team chemistry through regular communication and agile methodologies.

After graduating with distinction from my Game Design masters at Kingston University London in November 2020, I am now looking to lead a career in the games industry.
